Jan 10, 2018: At least 55 people are said to have have been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Lau local government area of Taraba state.

According to reports by the Nation, 25 bodies were recovered and given a mass burial on Tuesday, January 9, when journalists and a media assistant to the governor, Bala Dan Abu, visited the affected area.

“Herdsmen are killing people in Lau, my state,” Governor Darius Ishaku said.

The reports says the death toll rose to 55, as more bodies were recovered on Wednesday morning by the locals.

Going further, the police, however, said normalcy has returned to the affected areas.

Meanwhile, the mindless killing of innocent women and children by suspected herdsmen in Benue state continued to trigger reactions across Nigeria.
