Secretary of State Rex Tillerson arrives Abuja, Nigeria on Monday March 12, 2018 to further the U.S.-Nigeria partnership and discuss ways to advance common goals with the government and people of Nigeria.
On arrival, the Secretary Rex Tillerson met with Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock as part of the conclusion of his first trip to the continent as Secretary.
The meetings with the Nigerian leadership aim to advance U.S.-Nigeria common interests in four main areas: countering terrorism, advancing peace and security, promoting good governance, and spurring mutually beneficial trade and investment.
