Lakewood Church’s pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen recent absence from live television broadcast of their weekly surmon generated rumors that the two were approaching retirement because of the backlash stemming from their actions during Hurricane Harvey.
However, in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Osteen confessed that he took a break from the weekly sermons to launch a company that he co-founded with his wife, Victoria.
Fighting back tears, Osteen revealed that his sister Lisa was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2015, which inspired the couple to start the life-changing company.
