Dangote Farms to partner with Ondo State Government In Rice Production- As ODSG agitates for Establishment of Rice Mills.
The General Manager Dangote Rice Limited , Dr. Sanni Dawop , has announced that Dangote rice has concluded plan to partner with Ondo State government in the area of rice production.
A statement from the group shown on Wednesday that the project was part of the Dangote ’s Rice Outgrower Scheme.
He said , “ We have continued to pioneer new approaches to empowering our Youths, and young graduates through rice production, thereby creating thousands of jobs and increasing incomes.
“ Our mission is to reduce poverty in the Society by providing high quality agro- inputs , technical support and secured market for farmers as well as to make permanent and sustainable impact. ”
” Our vision is to produce 10m tonnes of rice into Nigeria market by year 2020 and we are ready to establish 10 rice mills in Nigeria. ” he said
About 18,000 hectares of land are suitable for rice planting, thousands of graduates are expected to benefit from Ondo State Government’s partnership arrangement with Dangote Group in a project that will create employment and as well boost the economy of this state.
” We want to use this medium to urge Dangote Rice Limited to constructs rice processing mill here, Ondo State is blessed with fertile land.”
” Araromi to Lekki road is under construction, and its less than hour, we can assure you the road would be completed within a year, as this will also be an added advantage.”
” This was disclosed by the Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Adefarati Gboyega and Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Agriculture, Pastor Akin Olotu on Wednesday. ”
In attendance were; Mr Chandra- Dangote GM Tomatoes; Mrs Adegbola Elizabeth- Extension Manager; Mr Johnson Olaniyi- Director of Sales.
Others include; Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Special Duties, Barr. Adegbemile Henry Kayode; Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Ministry of Agriculture, among others.
