Nigerian Alex Ajipe presents at New York UN 62 session of Commission on Status of Women CSW62 (2018)

Klickonnect Networks to use profit annually for women empowerment.

Chief Alex Ajipe, the CEO of KlickKonnect Networks Nigeria has travelled to New York to present at the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

He lead a delegation from the KlickKonnect Networks Nigeria to present on how technology would enhance girls and women empowerment in the digital world.

The sixty-second session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on commenced ‪from 12 to run till 23 March 2018‬.

Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are welcome to attend the session.

At the CSW62 Priority theme is “Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls;

At the session, Chief Ajipe discussed about participation in and access of women to the media, and information and communications technologies and their impact on and use as an instrument for the advancement and empowerment of women.

During his presentation during the panel discussion, the CEO Klickonnect Networks, Chief Ajipe Alex said

“It’s my believe that women should be involved in the process of empowerment to be able to have sustainable result for Gender equality. Technology has not only fast track effect of women participation and equality but also has protected them from harassment and bias in the men world. ”

“ We at the Klickonnect Networks are committed to use 30% of our profit annually for social investment in CSR and channel 60% of same for women empowerment. ”

” We shall also be collaborating with any willing organizations to mobilize rural women for technology development and participation for entrepreneurship skills. ”

In preparation for the sixty-second session of the Commission on the Status of Women, UN Women convened an Expert Group Meeting on the priority theme: “Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls.”

The Expert Group Meeting was co-convened by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and World Food Programme (WFP) at IFAD Headquarters in Rome, Italy, on 20 to 22 September 2017.
