Nigerian in UK Andrew Randa designs unique World Cup kits for Super Eagles

MON, 11/27/2017 :  NIGERIAN graphic designer Andrew Randa has come up with a unique design for the Super Eagles kits which will be presented to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in the hope that it can be adopted for the 2018 World Cup.

Unlike previous and the current kits which were bland and designed by kit manufacturer Nike, the new jerseys are unique, in that they have an eagle emblazoned on the front of the shirts. Mr Randa has designed both home and away versions of the kit with one being primarily green and the other primarily white.

As usual, they include the usual paraphernalia like the Nike logo, the NFF crest and are made up of Nigeria’s national colours of green and white. The home kit has white trimmings, while the away kit has green trimmings on the shirts and shorts.

Coming with a small collar, the kits have V-necked tops and have bottoms down the fronts of the jerseys. They also come with big bold numberings on the back and front and should be available in both long and short sleeve formats.

Now that the design has been put together, the NFF has to adopt it and then push for Nike to produce it in the run-up to the World Cup. Mr Randa said he has already been in touch with the NFF about adopting the new design.

Nigeria is one of 32 countries that will be participating in the 2018 World Cup and the NFF, like all other federations is awaiting the December 1 draw to know which group Nigeria will be in. Nike is Nigeria’s kit supplier and like its competitors Adidas, Puma, Hummel, Uhlsport, Umbro, Errea, New Balance and Ramai, will be responsible for equipping the Super Eagles when the tournament kicks off in June next year.
