As much as many folks want her to contest against Donald trump in 2020, Oprah says she’s not. Oprah Winfrey addressed speculation about running for president in 2020 and responded to President Trump’s tweet about her on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and she said “I am definitely not running for president of the United States”.<\/p>\n
Oprah Winfrey finally got around to responding to President Trump\u2019s criticism, four days later.<\/p>\n
On Sunday night, Winfrey moderated a \u201c60 Minutes\u201d roundtable of diverse group of Michigan voters to talk about Trump\u2019s first year in office.<\/p>\n
The President took offense.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes,\u201d he tweeted around 11:30 that night.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!\u201d<\/p>\n
Winfrey discovered his attack the next morning, she said on Ellen DeGeneres\u2019 show Thursday.<\/p>\n
\u201cI woke up and I just thought,\u201d the TV icon said while shrugging. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t like giving negativity power, so I just thought, what?”Winfrey said she and her producers went back through the episode, just to make sure Trump\u2019s criticism wasn\u2019t legitimate.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe first time I saw it, I said there\u2019s something missing here from the conversation. When I had asked the question of, \u2018Do you think, do you care about what other people think about America?\u2019 And they only used the Democratic side,\u201d she told DeGeneres.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I said, I remembered the guy Matt had said, \u2018No, we\u2019re the only people that are worried what other countries are thinking of us.\u2019 And I said, \u2018I think you should go back and put that in because it makes it more balanced.\u2019 So, I was working very hard to do the opposite of what I was hate-tweeted about, so, it\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n
DeGeneres also defended her friend against the presidential attack, saying Trump had \u201cgone too far.\u201d<\/p>\n
