He charged them to prove their worth in the service of the state and her people. One of the commissioners sworn in by the governor is his biological sister, Mrs. Ogechi Ololo (nee Okorocha). She is now the state\u2019s Commissioner for Happiness and Couples\u2019 Fulfillment.<\/p>\n

Ololo, who is married to Chuks, an engineer, was the All Progressives Congress\u2019 candidate into the House of Representatives for the Owerri Federal Constituency seat in 2015 and she has served in various capacities since Okorocha became the state governor in 2011.<\/p>\n

She had, before her new appointment, served as her brother\u2019s Deputy Chief of Staff and Special Adviser on Domestic Matters.<\/p>\n

Swearing in the new commissioners and the Transition Committee Chairmen on Monday at the Imo International Convention Centre, Owerri, the governor charged them to leave their marks in their respective ministries and local governments.<\/p>\n

He urged them to see themselves as men and women on a rescue mission.<\/p>\n

The governor added that they had come to be part of the success story of his administration.<\/p>\n

The new development comes weeks\u00a0after Nigerians criticized Mr. Okorocha for honouring and erecting statues of some African leaders<\/a>\u00a0in his state.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nigerians have, however, taken to various social media platforms especially on Twitter to register their disapproval of the new appointment.<\/p>\n

A twitter user\u00a0Kelvin Odanz<\/strong>\u200f\u00a0(@KelvinOdanz<\/a>) charged Nigerians not to be distracted from the current anti-SARS campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t let\u00a0Rochas Okorocha and his trademarks idiocy distract you from the things that really matter. Operatives of SARS are still roaming the streets, Yomi Shogunle is on a rampage, SARS reorganisation is a scam. #ENDSARS<\/a><\/strong>\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

\n
Another user,\u00a0Nedu Ekeke #BBOG<\/strong>\u00a0(@Nedunaija<\/a>) said \u201cRochas Okorocha of Imo State appoints Mrs. Ogechi Ololo as the Commissioner for \u201cHappiness and Couples\u2019 Fulfillment\u201d. If there was any doubt that Okorocha is a total misfit, he cleared it today.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
