{"id":4896,"date":"2017-12-18T18:07:06","date_gmt":"2017-12-19T01:07:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/?p=4896"},"modified":"2017-12-18T18:09:35","modified_gmt":"2017-12-19T01:09:35","slug":"4896-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/4896-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Ekiti APC accuses Fayose of shortchanging Ekiti delegates at PDP convention"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content-article-title\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.informationng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/ayo-fayose-for-president-2.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for fayose poster\" \/>December 18, 2017:\u00a0The All Progressives Congress (APC) in\u00a0Ekiti state has accused Ayodele Fayose, governor of the state, of\u00a0shortchanging those who represented Ekiti at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention in Abuja.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"main-article-content\">\n<div class=\"shortcode-content\">\n<p>There were reports that delegates received bribes to vote for some candidates.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Monday, Taiwo Olatubosun, spokesman of the APC in Ekiti, alleged that while the governor collected\u00a0$10,000 on behalf of each delegate, he ended up giving them N50,000.<\/p>\n<p>The delegates \u2013 92 in number \u2013 were said to have been directed to vote for Uche Secondus, winner of the chairmanship election, and some other candidates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust last week, he robbed members of his party who were delegates to PDP convention by collecting $10,000 on behalf of each of the 92 delegates but gave each delegate a pittance of N50,000, while their counterparts from other states went home with $10,000,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the same way he denied taking N2 billion Ecological Fund for a very long time until APC approached Ecological Fund Office in Abuja to confirm the status Ekiti State\u2019s entitlement and three days after he confessed taking the money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe announced the award of exactly N2 billion even though up till now, there is no ecological project he executed with that money and the result is what we saw early in the year when floods ravaged several parts of the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The governor was accused of \u201cborrowing recklessly for elephant projects awarded to his cronies\u2019 companies for personal benefits\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As of the time this report was filed, Lere Olayinka, spokesman of the governor, had not\u00a0responded to a text message sent by TheCable.<\/p>\n<p>Credit to TheCable<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 18, 2017:\u00a0The All Progressives Congress (APC) in\u00a0Ekiti state has accused Ayodele Fayose, governor of the state, of\u00a0shortchanging those who represented Ekiti at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention in Abuja.
