{"id":5201,"date":"2017-12-22T18:35:21","date_gmt":"2017-12-23T01:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/?p=5201"},"modified":"2017-12-22T18:47:24","modified_gmt":"2017-12-23T01:47:24","slug":"5201-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/5201-2\/","title":{"rendered":"As a remedy to Brain Drain &amp; Medical Tourism, FG to invest more in health sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/18694-presscdn.pagely.netdna-cdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Buhari.jpg\" \/>Dec. 22, 2017: The Federal Government will increase investment in the health sector, so that the country can halt the loss of well trained professionals to other lands.<\/p>\n<p>President Muhammadu Buhari made the pledge when he received the executive members of Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), at State House, Abuja, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The President appreciated the concern expressed by the association on the state of the health sector in the country, and promised to implement the association\u2019s recommendations to boost healthcare system in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will do our best to work on your recommendations, and increase investment in the health sector,\u2019\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, the President of MDCAN, Prof. Ngim E. Ngim said the association comprised of trainers, researchers, leaders and major stakeholders in health care, who are concerned about the well-being of the sector.<\/p>\n<p>He appealed for action on the resolution of inter-professional rivalry in health care in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Ngim noted that a panel had been convened in 2014 to look into the issues, headed by Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, \u201cbut no White Paper has been issued till date.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(NAN)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dec. 22, 2017: The Federal Government will increase investment in the health sector, so that the country can halt the loss of well trained professionals to other lands.
