{"id":7225,"date":"2018-02-15T15:11:35","date_gmt":"2018-02-15T22:11:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/?p=7225"},"modified":"2018-02-15T15:11:35","modified_gmt":"2018-02-15T22:11:35","slug":"why-dutch-club-drags-sunday-oliseh-to-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/why-dutch-club-drags-sunday-oliseh-to-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Dutch Club Drags Sunday Oliseh To Court?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7226\" src=\"https:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/B8CBE2F5-A44D-4C70-906A-C98063CD42F8.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"614\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/B8CBE2F5-A44D-4C70-906A-C98063CD42F8.jpeg 614w, https:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/B8CBE2F5-A44D-4C70-906A-C98063CD42F8-300x184.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/nigerianews.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/B8CBE2F5-A44D-4C70-906A-C98063CD42F8-100x61.jpeg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dutch second tier club, Fortuna Sittard, has denied that former Nigeria captain Sunday Oliseh was suspended due to his \u201crefusal to to participate in illegal activities\u201d.<br \/>\nOliseh was suspended on Wednesday for what the club termed \u201cunacceptable actions\u201d.<br \/>\nIn response, Oliseh claimed the club wanted him to \u201cviolate the law\u201d.<br \/>\nOn Thursday a statement from Sittard said they would be taking legal advice and look to sacking Oliseh.<br \/>\n\u201cFortuna does not recognize itself at all in these accusations, which were not highlighted by Sunday Oliseh to the club,\u201d the club wrote on its website.<br \/>\n\u201cThe case will be presented by Fortuna Sittard to the arbitration committee of the KNVB (the Dutch Football Association), an independent body, which will now make an assessment of whether there is sufficient grounds to terminate the employment contract of Sunday Oliseh.\u201d<br \/>\nThe club also insisted that it did not rush into its decision to suspend Oliseh.<br \/>\n\u201cFortuna Sittard expressly did not take the decision to suspend Sunday Oliseh overnight,\u201d the statement continued.<br \/>\n\u201cThe innumerable culpable acts as well as the disrupted employment relationship on the part of Sunday Oliseh have unfortunately led Fortuna to make him non-active.<br \/>\n\u201cFortuna Sittard has been legally advised by the Federation of Paid Football Organizations (FBO) during the entire process.\u201d<br \/>\nThey outlined why they took the decision to put Oliseh on \u201cnon-active\u201d duties.<br \/>\n\u201cThe suspension of the trainer is emphatically not motivated by the four successive losses, although it is fair to say that the disrupted employment relationship between Sunday Oliseh, the group of players and other employees of Fortuna Sittard has had a negative influence.\u201d<br \/>\nOliseh was appointed as Sittard coach in late December 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dutch second tier club, Fortuna Sittard, has denied that former Nigeria captain Sunday Oliseh was suspended due to his \u201crefusal to to participate in illegal activities\u201d.
