The Filmhouse cinema of the Akure Mall joined the whole cinema house worldwide\u00a0 to premiere the first of its kind black superhero and an ever-produced technologically advanced African movie, \u201cBlack Panther \u201d which was released on February 16th, 2018 by Marvel studios.<\/p>\n

The movie, rated 15, which changed the general belief that American movie producers have the intellectual ability to produce superhero movies,\u00a0 has its setting in Wakanda Kenya and features Sambisa forest in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Black Panther is a 2018 American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures , it is the eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), directed by Ryan Coogler and written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole.<\/p>\n
The movie\u00a0 stars Chadwick Boseman as T\u2019Challa \/ Black Panther, alongside Michael B. Jordan , Lupita Nyong\u2019o , Danai Gurira , Martin Freeman , Daniel Kaluuya , Letitia Wright,
\nWinston Duke , Angela Bassett , Forest Whitaker , and Andy Serkis .<\/p>\n
After the death of his father, T\u2019Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T\u2019Challa\u2019s mettle as king \u2014 and as Black Panther \u2014 gets tested when he\u2019s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.<\/p>\n
Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.<\/p>\n
Speaking with The Hope at the premiere of the movie, the branch Manager of Filmhouse cinema, Osho Vivian noted that\u00a0 Black Panther is the first\u00a0 movie to be premiered in Akure being the biggest movie so far in the year and first black superhero movie.<\/p>\n

She described the movie as the best indigenous superhero movie which is sold worldwide with the highest Box Office Records and a great deal for Akure film house cinema to have it.<\/p>\n
\u201dAs blacks, it shows we are not forgotten in the world; because as the first black superhero movie it means a lot ,Asian don\u2019t even have a superhero, this is our home we need to celebrate it,\u00a0 and we are celebrating it in the little way we can here.<\/p>\n
She condemned the view of some people that coming to film house is a waste of time, and described it as means of relaxation. People should come and watch movies, we have world-class equipment here.<\/p>\n
The filmhouse manager said that the movie was produced in year 2017 and released officially worldwide on February 16th 2018.<\/p>\n
According to Premium Times, Disney-Marvel\u2019s \u201cBlack Panther\u201d is heading for a super-heroic $218 million debut over the four-day President\u2019s Day weekend at 4,020 North American locations.<\/p>\n
That number means that \u201cBlack Panther,\u201d starring Chadwick Boseman and directed by Ryan Coogler, has doubled its original tracking in less than a month.<\/p>\n
The film, which carries an estimated $200 million production cost, had been tracking to bring in between an impressive $100 and $120 million when first estimates emerged on Jan. 25.<\/p>\n
Since then, \u201cBlack Panther\u201d has become a must-see movie for many moviegoers, underlined when Thursday previews brought in $25.2 million, the largest Thursday night preview gross for a February opener and the second-largest preview gross for a Marvel film.<\/p>\n
The film\u2019s estimated three- day gross of $192 million is the highest debut ever for a February film and the fifth highest of all time.<\/p>\n
Combined with an estimated international debut of $169 million from 69 percent of the international market, the estimated global debut stands at $361 million through Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cBlack Panther\u201d has demolished the record for the largest Presidents Day weekend, blowing past \u201cDeadpool\u2019s\u201d 2016 mark of $152 million.<\/p>\n
Overall North American movie going for the four-day period should hit $300 million \u2014 far above the $278 million mark in 2016, according to comScore.<\/p>\n
\u201dThis is proof that the big screen experience may arguably be the most powerful platform of change in our society,\u201c said Paul Dergarabedian,\u201dsenior media analyst with comScore.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe emotional, communal, immersive and bigger than life theatrical experience has an impact that virtually no other medium can match.\u201d Comscore\u2019s PostTrak survey of the audience showed outstanding numbers with 77 percent rating \u201cBlack Panther\u201d as \u201cexcellent\u201d and another 18 percent as \u201cvery good \u201c.<\/p>\n
