However, this money was collected by the <span class=\"caps\">NNPC<\/span> after the sale of operating licences. And the receipt of 15 years of dividends in a consortium where the oil company owns stakes.<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"caps\">NNPC<\/span> spokesman did not comment on these accusations.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian Initiative\u2019s Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative does not have the means to hold a company to account.<\/p>\n<p>However, the secretary says that his reports have allowed the federal government to trace billions of dollars that had been misappropriated.<\/p>\n<p>Agencies<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite some progress, Nigeria\u2019s national oil company still faces transparency problems.
