Ogbeni Aregbesola led Osun State Government signs an agreement with AWOL Ltd for the concession of the $350m MKO International Airport.<\/p>\n
AWOL International are the facilitators of the project. The project is to be handled by BIRAY group with support from the Turkish government<\/p>\n
The project is to be financed 100% by BIRAY group to the tune of $350m<\/p>\n
The concession agreement is a BOT agreement (Build, Operate and Transfer). AWOL International will finance the project to the tune of $350m<\/p>\n
The concessionaire have expressly stated that work will begin on the airport site from the 9th of Nov 2017<\/p>\n
The first phrase of the project is expected to be completed within the next 8 months.<\/p>\n
Facilities to be completed within the first phase include:<\/p>\n
1. An ultramodern commercial complex ( Terminal Building, Control Tower etc).<\/p>\n
2. Standard Civic infrastructure
\n3. Maintenance building and Power House
\n4. Staff training center
\n5. Fire fighter station<\/p>\n
6. Security infrastructure and services
\n7. Apron and Taxiway parking
\n8. Dual carriage road from Oba Adesoji Aderemi road to the airport<\/p>\n
9. Completion of the fence and surveillance road within the airport perimeter
\n10. Completion of 3.5 kilometer standard runway<\/p>\n
Concession is for 30 years and State Government\u2019s equity is funds spent to date.<\/p>\n
Concessionaire will pay all outstandings to existing contractors and also keep them to finish their part<\/p>\n
AWOL is the SPV for the Project. Project implementation and financing will be by Baray Group<\/p>\n
Baray Group has a technical background and experience.\u00a0No previous contractual agreement has been terminated but all previous agreements have been brought under the framework of this concession<\/p>\n
