Pastor Philip Igbinijesu of the Word Assembly has declared that any member of his church without a Permanent Voters Card (PVC) will not be allowed to partake in the church’s communion.

The cleric made the declaration in short video uploaded on YouTube on Friday, March 30.

He said those who do not have voters card should sit down when other members are taking the communion in church.

He said those talking and praying for Nigeria but had no PVC’s were doing so in vain, adding that individuals without voters card were enemies of Nigeria.

Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation, and Reno Omokri, former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, squared off on Twitter over the opinion of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on how herdsmen should be referred to.

In an interview on March 8, Abubakar said it was wrong to refer to killer herdsmen as Fulani.

“It is a misnomer to use the term ‘killer herdsmen of Fulani extraction’ or ‘killer Fulani herdsmen,” Abubakar had said.

“The vast majority of Fulani people are peaceful and live in harmony with other ethnicities. When kidnappers kidnap, we do not identify them by their ethnicity. We identify them as kidnappers, pure and simple. There may be fringe elements with criminal tendencies. Some may be Fulani. Some may not even be. Let us identify them by their activities and not by their ethnicity.”

But Fani-Kayode, on Saturday, said he was shocked by Abubakar’s assertion, adding that “it is most unlike him to speak in this way”.

“Is it so difficult for us to accept the ugly truth and to call a spade a spade?” he asked.

“Must we continue to mock the memories of those that have been slaughtered by shielding those who butchered them? Have we no shame or remorse? Are this childish semantics and infantile denials really necessary?”

Replying to his comment, Omokri said Fani-Kayode misquoted Abubakar and put words in his mouth.

According to him, most of the herdsmen perpetrating the act are Mbororo, adding that they “differ from the Fulani as the Tiv defer from the Igbo”.

Citing an example of Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, suspected kidnapper better known as Evans, Omokri said Evans is known as a kidnapper, not “Igbo kidnapper”.

He asked Fani-Kayode to apologise, asking if he would like such to be done to him.

“Read what you quote @Atiku as saying and read what @Atiku actually said. Note that they are 2 different statements. You misrepresented him. You twist his words. Your quote was dishonest. Quote Atiku. Don’t put your words in his mouth! You won’t like it done to you!” Omokri wrote.

“Actually, most of those involved in these killings are Mbororo also known as Bororo. I did a broadcast on this last year in London. If the Mbororo speak, the Fulani cannot understand them. The Mbororo differ from the Fulani as the Tiv defer from the Igbo.

“Recently the police arrested a notorious kidnappers known as Evans. Evans was even discovered to have been a billionaire. But neither the media or Femi Fani-Kayode described Evans as an Igbo kidnapper or a Yoruba kidnapper. He was just a kidnapper.

“Boko Haram became the deadliest terror group in the world in 2014. It has been established by independent sources that most Boko Haram fighters, are Kanuri from Borno/Yobe, but we do not call them Kanuri terrorists. We call them terrorists pure and simple.

“It is obvious who is being dishonest here. Look at the 2 quotes. Nigerians can read for themselves. You misquoted @atiku. It is in black and white. Plain as day. Why did you not just quote what he said? Why did you have to add and remove to what he said?

“Let us face the issue at hand instead of trying to divert it. You dishonestly misquoted @atiku and this is the proof. Be man enough to accept it and apologize. Would you like it if it’s done to you? Look Femi, you lied. Deal with it. I will not follow you into the gutter. I don’t need to suck up to @atiku. I made a fortune in US dollars from just one bestseller! I suck up to the truth not to men! You told a lie. Fess up to your lie.”

Dear @RealFFK,

However, Fani-Kayode hit back at Omokri, asking him to “be a man” and call a spade a spade.

He insisted that “ALL Fulani terrorists and herdsmen are Fulani”.

“@renoomokri ….for God sake stop sitting on the fence and hedging ur bets. Be a man, call a spade a spade and stop trying to suck Atiku’s Fulani rectum.Real pastors don’t eat arseholes. Trust me, Atiku will respect u more if u tell him the truth and tell him when he is wrong,” Fani-Kayode said.

“Bad choice. There is no comparison. Not ALL BH fighters are Kanuri but ALL Fulani terrorists and herdsmen are Fulani. They are represented by Miyetti Allah which is an org. with a Fulani leadership. Finally most of their own Fulani leaders call them Fulani herdsmen. READ MY ESSAY!

“Not only must we cage the Fulani terrorists but we must also identify and crush the traitors within our ranks that lick their arses for money and favour and encourage them to unleash genocide against our people. Those that do that are worse than vermin, vultures and cockroaches.”

This is not the first time that both men will disagree in public. In 2016, they were involved in a public spat over a comment by Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of Facebook.

Fani-Kayode had expressed reservations about Zuckerberg’s description of the Hausa language as unique but Omokri, who saw nothing wrong with what Facebook co-founder said, tackled the ex-minister.

On January 9, 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari ordered Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police (IGP) to relocate to Benue state where clashes between farmers and herdsmen had resulted in over 70 deaths.

Idris travelled to Benue for one day and delegated delegated Joshiak Habila, DIG operations, as he returned back to Abuja.

Five days later, pictures of IGP Idris surfaced on social media cutting a birthday cake on the occasion of his 59th birthday.

Sadly, the Benue state recorded more killings after his departure but the smiles on the face of the number one police officer showed that he had a pleasant moment.

When Buhari visited Benue over two months later, he was told that Idris did not spend up to 24 hours in the north-central state.

Responding, Buhari said he was surprised by the reports that Idris did not comply with his order.

“I’m not aware that the I-G did not spend 24 hours in the state as directed by me, I am getting to know in this meeting,” he had said.

Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti and fierce critic of the president, saw that as an avenue to fire yet another shot at the president.

“What manner of a President will give order to the IGP on January 9, only to be telling Nigerians on March 12 (2 months after) that he never knew that the IGP disobeyed his order?” Fayose asked, obviously taunting Buhari.

You Cannot Censor The Media, PDP Tells FG

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a swipe at the Federal Government over what it perceives as an attempt to censor the media.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on Thursday faulted the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, who briefed journalists on the government’s achievements so far.

“APC’s attempt to gag the media is pathetic, as no amount of censorship or bandying of false figures would stop Nigerians from reflecting on the real state of affairs in our country today,” he said while criticising the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ologbondiyan believes President Muhammadu Buhari’s government seems to have dashed the expectations of numerous Nigerians.

He claimed that the minister gave “unverifiable statistics” of the government’s achievements when he received a team of journalists on Tuesday in Abuja.

The PDP spokesman noted that the purported failures of the Federal Government must not be downplayed by censoring the media.

“Nigerians know that the APC has failed and that the Buhari-led Presidency is directly responsible for the collapse of our economy, which was thriving under the PDP.

“They know that the torrents started buffeting the nation from May 29, 2015, and no amount of propaganda and futile efforts to censor the media by the APC will change the facts,” Ologbondiyan said.

The statement read further: “While we note the minister’s snap that the media should contextualise their reporting, we ask; how else should the media contextualise the sudden collapse of the economy with the naira tumbling from N197/ 1USD in 2015 when PDP handed over power, to N360-N400/ 1USD, without placing the blame at the doorsteps of President Muhammadu Buhari and his dysfunctional APC?

“How else should the media contextualise the fact that under the Buhari Government, over 8 million Nigerians lost their jobs between 2016 to 2017; 16 million were unemployed, 18 million more were underemployed, while another 27.44 million refused to work in 2016 for various reasons related to frustration in the polity?”

The PDP further reiterated that the government should accept its failures and seek help from well-meaning Nigerians. – CTV

Akure Mall Filmhouse cinema premiere first black superhero and technologically advanced African movie, “Black Panther”

The Filmhouse cinema of the Akure Mall joined the whole cinema house worldwide  to premiere the first of its kind black superhero and an ever-produced technologically advanced African movie, “Black Panther ” which was released on February 16th, 2018 by Marvel studios.

The movie, rated 15, which changed the general belief that American movie producers have the intellectual ability to produce superhero movies,  has its setting in Wakanda Kenya and features Sambisa forest in Nigeria.

Black Panther is a 2018 American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures , it is the eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), directed by Ryan Coogler and written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole.

The movie  stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther, alongside Michael B. Jordan , Lupita Nyong’o , Danai Gurira , Martin Freeman , Daniel Kaluuya , Letitia Wright,
Winston Duke , Angela Bassett , Forest Whitaker , and Andy Serkis .

After the death of his father, T’Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and as Black Panther — gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.

Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.

Speaking with The Hope at the premiere of the movie, the branch Manager of Filmhouse cinema, Osho Vivian noted that  Black Panther is the first  movie to be premiered in Akure being the biggest movie so far in the year and first black superhero movie.

She described the movie as the best indigenous superhero movie which is sold worldwide with the highest Box Office Records and a great deal for Akure film house cinema to have it.

”As blacks, it shows we are not forgotten in the world; because as the first black superhero movie it means a lot ,Asian don’t even have a superhero, this is our home we need to celebrate it,  and we are celebrating it in the little way we can here.

She condemned the view of some people that coming to film house is a waste of time, and described it as means of relaxation. People should come and watch movies, we have world-class equipment here.

The filmhouse manager said that the movie was produced in year 2017 and released officially worldwide on February 16th 2018.

According to Premium Times, Disney-Marvel’s “Black Panther” is heading for a super-heroic $218 million debut over the four-day President’s Day weekend at 4,020 North American locations.

That number means that “Black Panther,” starring Chadwick Boseman and directed by Ryan Coogler, has doubled its original tracking in less than a month.

The film, which carries an estimated $200 million production cost, had been tracking to bring in between an impressive $100 and $120 million when first estimates emerged on Jan. 25.

Since then, “Black Panther” has become a must-see movie for many moviegoers, underlined when Thursday previews brought in $25.2 million, the largest Thursday night preview gross for a February opener and the second-largest preview gross for a Marvel film.

The film’s estimated three- day gross of $192 million is the highest debut ever for a February film and the fifth highest of all time.

Combined with an estimated international debut of $169 million from 69 percent of the international market, the estimated global debut stands at $361 million through Sunday.

“Black Panther” has demolished the record for the largest Presidents Day weekend, blowing past “Deadpool’s” 2016 mark of $152 million.

Overall North American movie going for the four-day period should hit $300 million — far above the $278 million mark in 2016, according to comScore.

”This is proof that the big screen experience may arguably be the most powerful platform of change in our society,“ said Paul Dergarabedian,”senior media analyst with comScore.

“The emotional, communal, immersive and bigger than life theatrical experience has an impact that virtually no other medium can match.” Comscore’s PostTrak survey of the audience showed outstanding numbers with 77 percent rating “Black Panther” as “excellent” and another 18 percent as “very good “.

Some of the spectators at the premiere of the movie commended the creativity of the producer and for the huge investment on the movie.

Africa’s richest woman chief Mrs Folorunsho Alakija has buttressed the popular saying that successful people have serious stories. The wealthy woman took out time to inspire people who look up to her in a motivational post on her Instagram page.

The 67 year old woman revealed that contrary to what many believe about her, she has no university degree all because she came from a family where the female child was not considered important for tertiary education.

In her post, Alakija also revealed that she gave her life to Christ 27 years ago and experienced a turn around for good…

It happened almost 27 years ago when I gave my life to Christ at the age of 40 and my life has not been the same ever since, I pray your life too, will experience a total turn around.
I was born almost 67 years ago, into a large and illustrious polygamous Muslim family as number 8 out of 52 children through a father who had 8 wives.

Meanwhile, Folorunsho left the shores of Nigeria to study abroad at the tender age of 7…
Even at that age, I knew I could not afford to let my family down cause I was seen as an ambassador.

However, her dream to study law was not fulfilled because her father did not believe in investing in girls at that time.

Today, I have no university degree, but God’s glory lifted me up and I have received numerous Honorary Doctorate Degrees at home and abroad.

According to Mrs Alakija, it took her more than two and half decades to put together all that she has now… I am not an overnight success. She said.

I have had to make sacrifices like everyone else, faced challenges but never given up.
The wealthy woman said encouraging many who believed wealth was delivered to her on a platter

Billionaire daughter, Tolani Otedola just revealed that her father’s money is not her’s.

Tolani Otedola, the first daughter of billionaire Femi Otedola, who learnt the rudiments of music in England and has completed her education, has decided to take her music to the next level in Nigeria.

In a recent interview, she somewhat accepted that she takes advantage of her father’s name but she is trying to work hard and hopes that her music speaks for her.

In the chat with GoldMyneTV, she said,

“If you want to be good at anything, you have to learn it in school or somewhere. I have been preparing myself for the music industry. At a time, I was working, I was in the university and I was studying music too. I had to learn how to play instruments and how to write music.”

According to her, she will never take it personally if anyone who attributes her success to her father’s fame.

“If you tell me I am taking advantage of my father’s fame, I will not argue with you. I have already accepted that people will form their own opinions about me and I don’t intend to fight it. I will try to work hard and hope that my music speaks for me.

“It’s a mistake for people to think that since we were born into a wealthy home, we don’t need to work for anything. My father takes care of us, but his money is not ours. Parents like to support their children, but I don’t think they want us to depend on them forever. One day, my parents will not be around again and I will need to take care of myself.”

By the way, Billionaire CEO of Forte Oil, Femi Otedola, is blessed with four children, three daughters and a son.

It notable to know that his three daughters possess interests in entertainment. Florence is DJ Cuppy, Temi is a fashion entrepreneur and Tolani, is a singer.
