People are shouting intermodal transport; I went to the new airport in Singapore and I didn\u2019t find one person at the airport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you walk in, technology takes over,\u201d Mr. Amaechi said.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ds-1col file file-image file-image-jpeg view-mode-embedded centered clearfix block-story-object block-story-object-resource block-story-object-resource-image\"><span class=\"block-story-object-content\"><span class=\"block-story-object-content-header\"><span class=\"block-story-object-content-header-description\">Rotimi Amaechi\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>called for an urgent renaissance in Nigeria\u2019s infrastructure, especially in the area of information and communications technology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey also said in the next few years, they would introduce driverless cars. We should also think outside the box about how to improve our transport sector and think less about how sun and moon affect the sector or building more bus stops.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe should see how much investment we can put in the area of ICT. Intelligence transportation should not be ignored,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>If heeded, Mr. Amaechi\u2019s call would mark a shift in Buhari administration\u2019s approach to public engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Since assuming office in 2015, President Buhari has led his appointees and party members\u00a0to blame Mr. Jonathan for failing to\u00a0properly direct the country\u2019s affairs during his tenure.<\/p>\n<p>Allegations such as senseless looting of public funds, nepotism, economic mismanagement and gross abuse of power are regularly directed at Mr. Jonathan.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Mr. Amaechi slammed Mr. Jonathan for\u00a0allegedly failing the Igbo\u00a0during his years, saying the former president left the region in a state of disrepair.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Jonathan went to Onitsha and danced and promised to construct Onitsha bridge. Right? After that nothing happened,\u201d Mr. Amaechi said at a social media forum in Lagos on June 13.<\/p>\n<p>Bolaji Abdullahi, a spokesperson for the APC , told PREMIUM TIMES the call was appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnough of blaming the previous administration, Nigerians want us to focus,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Abdullahi said the wrongdoings of Mr. Jonathan\u2019s government would remain in the memories of Nigerians, but that the current administration was not voted to amplify them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, there were problems created by the previous administration, but Nigerians didn\u2019t vote for us because they want us to be telling them who\u2019s responsible.
