The law took effect from Nov. 1, 2017, the state commissioner of police,, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, said.<\/p>\n
He said measures were being taken, including visibility policing, to stem the ceaseless killings in the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn order to strengthen our visibility in the state, we have established Tactical Operation Points in 22 locations within Makurdi metropolis.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis gives a holistic security coverage to the metro.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThis was started last Thursday and the 22 points will be covered on 24 hours basis.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith regards to the enforcement of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law of the state, was have 32 suspects undergoing trial in respect to that.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe court processes are being carried out along with the Benue state Ministry of Justice.<\/p>\n
He said 105 persons have also been arrested and arraigned for alleged civil disturbances recently in Makurdi metropolis.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also have 11 suspects facing trial for homicide and mischief by fire which took place in Guma and Logo local government areas.<\/p>\n
