December 5, 2017: A staff of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) Akwanga Area office in Nasarawa State, Adamu Usman, was on Sunday abducted by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers along Akwanga- Keffi-Abuja highway.
The AEDC staff was returning from Keffi, where he went for official assignment and was kidnapped at about 5.30pm.
The source said Adamu and other victims ran into the hoodlums who opened fire on them forcing them to stop and were later made to lay face down.
The incident happened at the-same flash point where five policemen were ambushed and two killed by gunmen last Friday, around Mandara Village.
According to the source, the gunmen seized their victims including the AEDC staff, who they whisked away and abandoned his personal car at the scene of the incident.
A source from the AEDC office in Akwanaga, disclosed that the kidnappers had gotten in touch with the family of their victim and his office and are demanding N10 million ransom.
When contacted police spokesman in the state, Kennedy Idrisu, who confirmed the incident said the police was still investigating the matter.
