Facebook, the world’s largest social network which boasts of connecting over 2 billion people monthly is calling on social entrepreneurs to enter for its Social Entrepreneurship Award for 2017, that is, if you are a “One Young World Ambassadors”.
Ambassadors can apply as individuals or teams in groups (up to five individuals), Facebook says.
It will be recalled that on October 5, 2017, at the One Young World 2017 Summit in Bogotá, Colombia, Facebook’s VP of Global Marketing Solutions, Carolyn Everson, announced the Facebook Social Entrepreneurship Award and officially announced the opening of applications for One Young World Ambassadors to apply.
In line with the company’s mission, the award will present a prize to four teams or individual social entrepreneurs with advertising credits and Facebook mentors who will share marketing expertise.
Ambassadors who live and operate enterprises within Facebook’s four regions – North America, EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America – are eligible to apply.
To be eligible for the award, you and/or your team member must lead or be employed by a non-profit charity or a for-profit business legal entity, which is registered and/or formed under applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
Those with scalable businesses; and operate businesses that address a major social and/or economic issue in their region and empowers their community are eligible to apply for the award.
According to Facebook’s statement, candidates will be assessed based on “probability of increased impact following ad credit investment – 40 per cent; evidence of social impact – 30 per cent and innovation/originality – 30 per cent. Facebook Mentors will serve as judges for the Prize Winners.
Deadline for applying for the award is November 17, 2017 at 18:00 GMT. By end of November 2017, shortlisted candidates would be contacted, and would be required to must submit a video. By early December 2017, final winners would be selected.
Facebook says it is organising this award to better support cause-driven businesses, Facebook has partnered with One Young World to launch Social Entrepreneurship Award.
