Manchester United forced to a 2 – 2 draw by Leicester City on Saturday night
Juan Mata scored twice after Leicester had taken the lead at the King Power stadium
December 23, 2017: The Red Devils remain in second place on the log after match day 19 Ten-man Leicester City scored with the final kick of the game to force Manchester United to a 2 – 2 draw in their Premier League game at the King Power stadium.
The Foxes had taken the lead throguh Jamie Vardy but Juan Mata scored either side of half time before a stunning stoppage time equalizer by Harry Maguire helped the Foxes to a draw. As early as the fifth minute, Jesse Lingard forced Kasper Schmeichel into a smart save as his shot deflected off Harry Maguire.
Three minutes later Pogba forced another saved as Schmeichel pushed the Frnechman’s left footed drive out. The Foxes took the lead through Jamie Vardy in the 27th minute who slotted past De Gea in goal after receiving a through pass from Riyad Mahrez. Jamie Vardy opened the scoring at the King Power stadium.
Martial’s low cross was deflected into the path of Lingard, who teed up Mata for a strike. In the 53rd minute, Victor Lindelof cleared Christian Fuchs’ effort off the line was United failed to clear their lines.
The Spaniard doubled his tally and put United in front in the 60th minute with a superb freekick that caught Schmeichel out. In the 73rd minuted Lingard saw an effort hit the post after rounding up the goalie and his rebound attempt went well over the bar.
Midfielder Daniel Amartey was sent off in the 74th minute for a second bookable offense. There was a late twist as center-back Harry Maguire leveled at the death.
The Englishman made a late run to the back post to latch onto Albrighton’s delivery. The effort looped over the head of the injured Smalling and the defender sticks out his boot and guides the ball into the bottom corner.
