Messi Expresses Disappointment For Missing Argentina Clash Against Nigeria!
Nov 13, 2014: Argentina captain and Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has expressed his utmost disappointment for not being available for the pre-World Cup international friendly between La Albeceleste of Argentina and the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday in Krasnodar, Russia.
The magical alien said he’s very much aware of having a huge fan base in Nigeria who follows him very closely and as such would have love to play against the very familiar Super Eagles but that he had an agreement with Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli to be rested for the Nigeria game after playing in their Saturday friendly win against Russia which Sergio Aguero scored the lone goal.
“I have the desire to play against Nigeria, but Sampaoli decided to regulate a little and I won’t play in the game against Nigeria.
“It’s good to win to keep correcting and improving things. We have to strengthen the system of play that Sampaoli wants and take advantage of the time we have together.
“The reality is that we have little time with the national team and we have to take advantage of it to the fullest of the time we do spend together and to put into practice what the coach wants,” Messi told reporters.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Argentine squad are intensifying training for the clash against the Super Eagles and wants to win the game.
Nigeria plays Argentina on Tuesday evening at 5:30pm (not fully confirmed yet) and captain Mikel Obi and the squad are preparing for the clash.
