See How Diddy Wants to Change the Narrative of Black Race

Diddy landed himself as the cover star of “GQ’s April Style Bible.” The rap-mogul who has a net worth of $825 million according to Forbes, spoke about the death of Biggie, changing his name to Brother Love, and how he wishes to continue to contribute to the Black community after 30 years in the industry.

Love credited his continued career hunger to Black culture. “I want to be an authentic, unapologetic warrior for black culture and the culture of the street and how it moves. My thing is most importantly to change the narrative of the black race. I can’t relate to anything that isn’t about that,” he told the publication.

Outside of influencing music and style, Diddy revealed he is currently working on an app that will allow its users to search for black-owned businesses in their local neighborhoods. Despite wanting to uplift his community, the purveyor of Blackness said: “This is not about taking away from any other community.”

He continued: “The application will make it possible for us to have an economic community. It’s about blacks gaining economic power.” Diddy told “GQ” that he and JAY-Z continually have conversations about “Black excellence” and how they can put money back into the community to help facilitate pushing the culture forward.
