Spain, the 2010 winner, will meet Iberian rivals Portugal as well as Morocco and Iran in Group B following the ceremony that was staged at the Kremlin in Moscow. Five-time winner Brazil was drawn alongside Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia in Group E.
England will certainly be happy with its group, while Lionel Messi’s Argentina may feel aggrieved with the opposition it will have to face in the opening round.
Of the group stage matches, the Group B clash between Portugal and Spain stands out as a highlight. The other potential glamour match is the Germany vs. Mexico contest, which could decide the winner of Group F.
